About Boi Aarot Publication

Progressive, Independent, Rooted in Kolkata

Boi Aarot Publication is a progressive, independent publishing house based in Kolkata, India, owned by Mrs. Sikha Sarkar. The conceptual foundation of the publication was laid by her son, Partha Sarathi Sarkar — a renowned academician, multidisciplinary researcher, and alumnus of Ramakrishna Mission — presently associated with Tripura Central University. His work spans Rural Development, Sociology, Folklore, Women’s Studies, Anthropology, and Cultural Heritage.

A Name with Purpose

Under the ownership of Mrs. Sikha Sarkar, Boi Aarot represents a blend of familial vision and intellectual dedication. The name “Boi Aarot” (translated from Bengali as Book Depot or Book Warehouse) symbolizes more than a space for printed pages; it is a creative haven — a meeting point where literature, research, and social consciousness merge.

A Revival of Purpose and Passion

The journey of Boi Aarot began modestly, publishing a few Bengali fiction titles that reflected the cultural and emotional fabric of Bengal. These early ventures, though short‑lived, laid a foundation of literary sincerity and artistic passion. After a brief pause, 2025 marks a powerful revival — now with an expansive and globally minded mission.

Today, the publication has moved beyond fiction and envisions a multidisciplinary platform bridging creative writing, academic research, and social development studies. Its mission: to foster literary excellence and scholarly depth that can benefit humanity and advance the understanding of civilization in all its diversity.

“Not only Business, but doing Researches for the Welfare of Human Civilization.”
